Good food for the island. We had the breakfast burrito which was served wet. I wish I had known as I would have skipped the wet part, but it was really good. We also had the combo with eggs, bacon and pancakes. It was decent as well. The restaurant was bigger than I expected. The staff was ok. Our food sat under the heat lamps for 5 minutes or so before the chatting staff realized it was done and ready for us. Besides that and the fake juice (expected on the island), it was better than most places.

Classic diner feel with a delicious food selection. The breakfast meals included a lot of food and was completely filling for a reasonable price. The corned beef hash had delightful crisp and the pancakes were fluffy.

Nice big menu. We walked around for awhile looking for a place and settled here. The place is warm and inviting and the menu has plenty of options and the prices are not outrageous. The place gets busy from what I can see, so arrive on the early side . I also get a feeling locals like it here.

Original Jack's Country Kitchen is like all the restaurants on the island, overpriced. There is no other way to characterize it. The food itself is generally good: breakfast is pretty good and portions are nice. Their egg dishes are all very well prepared, as is their French toast. Staff is friendly and attentive. This restaurant is one of six owned by a corporation. The other five are overpriced and (particularly in the case of the two Italian restaurants) forgettable. However, if you are looking for classic American fare, you will be fine here.

What a Gem, great spot for breakfast

Yum. Excellent food. I loved Mary Ann. She's the best server ever. She's from NY and you can tell even if you're not in her area. Loved her!! My daughter spilled her oj and she reordered her food and had it back out in no time and she treated her like it was no big deal. Close sitting quarters but it made for a fun experience.

I had the Eggs Benedict. The hash browns were Crip, but cold. The poached eggs were cooked correctly. The server brought me my breakfast quickly and the cup of coffee. Within a few minutes she dropped off the check. No more coffee and no one checked on me until I flagged down another server so I could pay the bill. A little disappointing.

FOOD IS FRESH, PRESENTATION IS EXCELLENT BUT THEY DONT SEASON THEIR STEAKS OR BURGERS!!! THEIR COFFEE IS DELICIOUS!!!

The food was awesome and gravy was bomb. I just wish they had chicken fried steak instead of chicken fried chicken on the menu. Unless we missed it. Servers were fast and kept everything completely under control. Long lines to get in when we went but it went really fast.

Best place for breakfast outside out of town. How about this beautiful Island Catalina. Love it.

This place has great good for the island, a true diner! The service was fast and the servers were friendly. There is a lunch cheeseburger combo where you get a burger, fries, and pie a la mode! The have very good pie!

Fun atmosphere and good breakfasts. Except the Belgian waffle tasted like a bearclaw... almond paste in it? Waiter didn't know.

4th time in Catalina. Always wanted to go here but always long wait. First time here. Good food good service got our food in 15 min. I gave them 3 stars, because the server Aaagustin for some reason had an attitude with us (4 people) I communicate with him in Spanish. I didn’t enjoy my Hawaiian breakfast at all because of his attitude he served everything with an attitude almost like he did wanted to served us. Totally regret it. I did share my experience with the owners,(I think) the Asian man and woman

Such an adorable countryesque diner atmosphere, but with delicious eats! We got the pigs in a blanket, two sides of bacon, and the Dungeness crab cake Benedict-- our food was out in less than 10 minutes. It was fresh, beautiful, and most importantly delicious. Told my friend next time we are in San Pedro, we have to take the hour long ferry just to get some bomb breakfast 👌

This diner has plentiful seating and the food came in tasty, generous portions. But I really loved the unique and often humorous wall art and old artifacts that decorate the entire restaurant. Many are genuine collector's items.

Mary is fabulous. Ask for one of her tables. You won't be disappointed.

Second time in Santa Catalina, First time here 15-20 minutes wait time but decided to try the place. Dirty pancake and greasy table and booth. Asked for iced tea refill never got it, almost choked on tortilla chips.Overpriced for what they offer. Picture of what I liked about the place. Totally regret it . Next time Pancake Cottage way better.

Do not order "fresh squeezed orange juice" here - it's not fresh at all. Comes from a machine with preloaded juice. Overall, typical American dinner with pretty unhealthy choices.

A perfect choice for a brunch! Nice breakfast menu, well cooked, well served. Everyone was welcoming and fast, plates/napkins were taken away without piling up. Nice atmosphere and interior. Statues of jazz singers were a nice addition! Reasonably priced for an island restaurant. Enjoyed it a lot! Would visit again.

Good breakfast. Had the Elvis Waffle and it was just the right amount of waffle, bacon, and peanut butter.

Delicious breakfast; omelettes weren't too greasy. Recommend their Catalina Veggie Omelette since it comes with pancakes & fruit, cottage cheese, or home fries. Their burgers are made of Niman Ranch beef, with pickle slices between patties. I thought it tasted like In-n-Out but soggy from all that delicious juice. Fries are AMAZING with this crispy outer batter. Ambience is casual, relaxed, & unique. Prices are more expensive than equivalent counter-service fare at Disneyland.

Great food and great service. Was a good existing even with the COVID restrictions. I would definitely make it a regular stop every visit to Catalina.

Always order my hawaiian macadamia nut french toast combo. Comes with coconut syrup. The stuff dreams are made of. Mary Ellen was our server this time. She is such a hoot!

When water is not an option !!! If you plan on tap water with your overpriced breakfast, think again. This place only offers plastic water bottles in island dining experience. This is not only bad for our landfills but a huge menace for marine life. I can understand when non paying people come and want water but to refuse water to someone who ordered 30 dollars in breakfast is absurd. I will not be dining with this establishment again and not would I recommend it to anyone else. Apparently they make the coffee with bottle water and wash the dishes with it as well, seems they don't have tap water.

This has to be the best most ultimate breakfast on the island

Now this is county cooking! Definitely a treat to find on the island. Corned beef and hash was delicious. Great coffee too.

They have great BBQ ribs and i got to ride their bull twice. Its all in the hips.

We ordered the fried chicken and waffle and the Avalon Joe's special ground beef with pancakes. Food was good overall, but the chicken wings were a bit salty; speedy service and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend for breakfast.

Original Jack's looked busy so we decided to try it. It was our first time in Catalina. The service was good and people that helped us were friendly. I had a breakfast platter served with bacon, scrambled eggs and pancakes. The food was just ok nothing spectacular. The bacon🥓 was the best part of my breakfast plate. The other person I was with had a burger and fries. The combo came with a piece of pie. The only pie they had that day was cherry. The cherry pie🥧 was very good not too sweet it was perfect. I would go back to try other pies.

Very busy. Extensive menu. Online menu slightly different than restaurant menu. Fast service. Food quality average. Coffee ok. Bloody Mary's are good.

Eggless breakfast and pancakes are wonderful. Service was a little slow and we had to ask 3 times for syrup and coffee refills.

We ate here twice during our 3 day stay. The food was very good. It is always busy so make sure you are prepared for a wait of about 15 minutes. The crepes (both banana and strawberry) were amazing. The hash browns are delightfully crunchy, and the bacon tasty. Win!

My girlfriend and I come to Catalina every year, and this place never disappoints. This is our favorite breakfast spot on the island, and probably one of our favorite breakfast spots anywhere. The staff and service are great, the food is spectacular and the price is perfect. I almost always get the Hawaiian breakfast which comes with Portuguese French toast, Portuguese sausage, eggs, and topped macadamia nuts and coconut syrup. Highly recommended if you decide to come to the island.
